The Weinberg Medical Center specializes in providing restorative dentistry services such as fillings, root canal treatments and crowns. The treatments are done after a thorough diagnosis that includes examination by a specialist dentist and an x-ray. All treatments rely on advanced approaches that are world leaders in these fields.
Fillings
Fillings are performed in cases of tooth defect usually caused by caries, which is a disease created due to bacteria that cling to the teeth and cause cavities and are accompanied by pain. A filling is part of the treatment of the infected tooth, meaning that the doctor begins the process of healing the tooth affected by caries and then closes the hole created by a filling, so that the tooth does not remain exposed.
When it comes to spot treatment, the hole will be small and the filling will be relatively simple, but if the doctor performed a root canal treatment in order to save the tooth a more complex filling, called a core buildup, is required. In fact, the filling completes the material removed from the tooth and restores the original tooth.
Root canal treatment
Root canal treatment is performed in cases of caries or inflammation of the tooth that has reached the inner layer – the "pulp". During treatment, the doctor thoroughly cleans and disinfects the inflammation and bacteria from the deep layers. In many cases, root canal treatment prevents its extraction and after treatment it functions normally for many years.
In what cases should root canal treatment be performed?
When there is caries or acute inflammation, there is usually no escape from performing root canal treatment in order to remove the inflammation and rehabilitate the damaged tooth. It is very important to detect the inflammation early and provide quick treatment, in order to prevent the development of inflammation, which may cause more damage if it is not treated in time.
Crowns
Crowns are a rehabilitative treatment to cover teeth that have undergone crown destruction and serve as a protective layer to protect the tooth from the penetration of bacteria. Sometimes due to complex dental treatments such as root canal treatments or removal of material from the tooth due to caries, it is left with a hole or completely hollow. In these cases, crowns cover the tooth and maintain its structural integrity.
Aesthetic appearance is another reason for using crowns, for example when it is necessary to treat a broken or crooked tooth, cracks or fractures in the tooth, a tooth that has changed color and more. In this case, too, the crown envelops the tooth and gives it an aesthetic appearance.
