Complex extractions

Complex extractions

The Weinberg Medical Center performs all types of dental extractions, including complex surgical extractions. The clinic's team of doctors does everything possible to rehabilitate inflamed teeth and prevent the extraction as much as possible, but when there is no choice, the extraction is carried out with high professionalism and with minimal pain.

In what cases are tooth extractions performed?

Destruction of the tooth crown– this is a common reason for extraction. In case the visible crown (upper part of the tooth) is completely destroyed, and if the doctor cannot hold the tooth in order to remove it, a surgical extraction is performed.

Impacted tooth or wisdom teeth – these are cases in which teeth (usually wisdom teeth) are trapped in the jawbone. When there is a disease that arises, it is necessary to remove them in order to prevent severe infections, local destruction of the jaw or damage to nearby teeth.

Preparation for orthodontic treatment – in the process of orthodontics, sometimes it is necessary to remove a tooth in preparation for the treatment. The extraction is performed when there is crowding in the teeth and the extraction will allow the teeth to move and "disperse" better after space has been freed.

A tooth that cannot be reconstructed – a broken, cracked tooth or a tooth that has developed severe caries that cannot be treated with root canal and crown treatment, or when it comes to severe gum disease that cannot be treated. Of course, we will try to do everything possible to rehabilitate the tooth before the extraction.

What is surgical extractions?

Surgical extractions is considered complex compared to normal extractions. It is performed when the tooth cannot be removed from the jawbone as is done with regular extraction. This is a complex and slightly threatening procedure, but when performed professionally there is nothing to fear. Surgical extraction is performed under local anesthesia, and in some cases by sedation. The purpose of the extraction is to remove the tooth completely along with the roots of the tooth.

At the Weinberg Medical Center clinic you will meet a professional team of doctors who treat all types of extractions professionally – with minimal pain. The extraction will be done after an attempt to save the tooth and only if there is no escape will the extraction be performed.
